Fillo Support
Short answers about storage, backups, exports, and what to do when something breaks. Fillo is a paid, offline car expense tracker for iPhone and iPad.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Fillo keeps the live Garage — records, attachments, and automatic backups — in the app’s local storage on your iPhone or iPad. Fillo runs no servers.
If you enable iCloud Device Backup in iOS settings, Apple may include Fillo’s app data in that device backup. Fillo itself does not run a cloud service and does not control Apple’s backup result.
Does Fillo require an account?
No. Fillo has no account system. The app works fully after installation, with no sign-in anywhere.
Does Fillo require a subscription?
No. Fillo is a paid download, once. Every shipped feature is included for every buyer. There is no subscription, free tier, trial, advertising, or in-app purchase.
How do I reinstall Fillo?
Sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account that acquired Fillo, then re-download it from your purchase history. Fillo has no Restore Purchases button because the purchase is the paid app download.
Back up your Garage before deleting Fillo or changing devices. Re-downloading the app does not retrieve Garage records from a Fillo server.
Can I use Fillo without an internet connection?
Yes. Fillo is offline by design. Reading, creating, editing, deleting, calculating, reminders with local notifications, backups, exports, and the Vehicle Passport all work without a network connection.
Sharing an export through Mail, AirDrop, or Messages uses the iOS features you already have configured — Fillo sends nothing on its own.
How do I add or edit a vehicle?
Add a car from the Garage with its make, model, year, plate number, VIN, and other details. Fillo keeps unlimited cars, and Home, Quick Log, and the Home Screen widget use the Active car.
You can edit a car’s details anytime. Deleting a car moves it and its dependent records to Recently Deleted, where they stay recoverable for 30 days.
How do I record an expense or service?
Two ways:
- Quick Log on Home — type or dictate a short sentence and review the draft before saving.
- Direct entry — fuel-ups with odometer, quantity, unit price, and total; charging sessions; maintenance; and ownership expenses such as insurance, registration, repairs, parking, tolls, accessories, and financing.
You can attach a receipt, photo, scan, or PDF to a record, and running totals stay separated by currency — Fillo never combines money from different currencies.
How does Cost Ahead work?
Cost Ahead estimates the next 30, 90, and 365 days from your saved history, confirmed maintenance intervals, recurring expenses, and document renewals.
Reminders can be set by date, odometer, or both — whichever comes first makes the item due. Estimated due dates are always clearly labeled. Fillo’s calculations are deterministic: it does not predict mechanical failures, and it does not use market data.
Can I export, back up, or restore my data?
Yes.
- Fillo Backup is a complete, restorable archive — with an optional password — that you can save to On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, or another Files provider, and later restore from a Files provider.
- Automatic backups — Fillo keeps up to seven daily backups inside the app container. These are removed if you delete the app.
- CSV export moves editable records out for analysis or recordkeeping. CSV import accepts official versioned Fillo templates.
Attachments are included in backups. CSV export does not include attachment content.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual records, Glovebox entries, or an entire car from inside the app. Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then are permanently purged.
Deleting the Fillo app removes its local storage. Because Fillo runs no servers, no copy of your records remains with Fillo.
Which devices and iOS versions are supported?
Fillo runs on iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 18.0 or later. Home Screen widgets, Shortcuts, and Quick Log are included.
Fillo is designed to stay useful when notifications, biometrics, iCloud, or Mail are unavailable — those are optional conveniences, not requirements.
How do I report a problem?
Email fillo@dexterbrylle.com. Include, if you can:
- The Fillo version (Settings → About Fillo)
- Your iOS version
- Your device model
- The steps to reproduce the problem
Please do not send private vehicle records, receipts, registration documents, or other sensitive data. The details above are enough to investigate most reports.
